what I’m wearing: pink flamingo blouse, multicoloured bikini top, frayed denim shorts, yellow boxy bag, pink reflective sunnies, rose gold sliders
Being surrounded by turquoise water, white sand and a mix of prints created the most colourful first day in Mexico. Up bright and early to shoot these photos before the beach got too busy, all I could think about was the yummy breakfast awaiting us… luckily, this wasn’t such a bad location to shoot in! Perched on one of the beaches at our hotel (we had three to choose from!) was this cute beach bar with the most typically tropical decor, complete with colourful signs and a straw roof.
To complement the tropical vibe, I had this cute flamingo print blouse from Zara – one of the many pink pieces I had picked out for this holiday; I instantly fell in love with its warm tones, playful cut and slightly silky fabric. Since the blouse is quite open, it makes the perfect opportunity for a cute bikini to peek out from underneath. With such a colourful top part, a pair of denim cutoffs was the perfect companion. I like how denim shorts are always easy to slip on over a swimsuit for that relaxed beach holiday look, but can be dressed up or down depending on the rest of the outfit. Finally, I have to mention the bag: I am soooooo in love with it, in case you haven’t noticed 😉. I actually never thought that I would pick out such a brightly-coloured bag, as I tend to go for neutral shades like greys, creams and seashell pinks. However, something about its cute boxy shape and the wide detail strap made me pick it up, carry it to the till and use it for just about every outfit on holiday – and after. The more I wear it, the more I love it! It’s amazing how many different things such a vivid colour can work with.
How would you style this colourful blouse?
