what I’m wearing: oversized denim jacket, blush pink blouse, spotty frill hem shorts, mini studded tote, abigail strappy espadrille flatform, delicate rings
One of my favourite things about summer are the long, balmy evenings. Sitting outside with a cocktail in hand, the last of the day’s sun skimming shoulders, watching the world go… everything seems slightly happier on these evenings; I’m going to miss summer when September rolls around. Before our carefree summer evenings disappear for another twelve months, I wanted to share this pastel outfit with you. Featuring my current favourite additions, it’s the perfect ensemble to take you from day to night. I personally love dressing in things that border the line for daytime and evening; it feels more easygoing, spontaneous, like anything could happen…
Starting with a pair of frill shorts and a light, woven blouse creates the perfect base for a cute, dressy daytime look. If the temperature is not quite European summery-worthy, throw on a denim jacket to add a layer of warmth and nonchalance; keeping things toned down while the sun is still out is the key to pulling off a day-to-eve ensemble. Then, add a mini bag and a pair of pretty tie-up flatform sandals to make this outfit cocktail-appropriate in an instant. I wore this outfit on my last outing in Winchester when Dave and I decided to head into town earlier for a mini afternoon date before meeting our friends at the pub for a birthday celebration.
