what I’m wearing: white blouse, light denim shorts, yellow mini boxy bag, pink round sunglasses
Rustic touches with an air of curated luxe, Hotel La Semilla opens up to a beautiful tiled floor leading to an oasis garden filled with palm trees and a scattering of tables in amongst the greenery. It’s a perfect escape from the lively streets of Playa del Carmen. Having first heard about it on Ohh Couture, I added this little chic B&B to my list of places to see on our morning of exploring Playa; we actually ended up stumbling across it by chance on our search for a cute cafe to eat. The restaurant is, unfortunately, only for guests of the hotel, as we sadly discovered after a peek inside, which was a huge shame as I don’t think I have ever seen a more beautiful outdoor seating area! A true bloggers’ dream.
Outfit-wise, I chose something simple and comfortable in the form of this white loose-fitted blouse and a pair of denim cutoffs, both of which are old, but I have tried to find similar ones for you. During my stay in Mexico, I found my outfits to be more colourful than usual in a bid to experiment a little more with patterns and brighter palettes as a way of getting back in touch with my old style when I was a student. Despite enjoying mixing prints and colours, it was quite refreshing to wear more minimal pieces to change things up, but I added my current favourite yellow bag and pink sunglasses for a splash of colour and a more personal touch to the outfit. It’s nice to wear something light and breezy in the heat!
Are you also drawn towards prints and colours more when you are abroad?
